Uplifting Voices to Create New Alternatives: Documenting the Mental Health Crisis for Adults on Chicago's Southwest Side

This report was put together through the collaborative contribution from community-based organizations, community leaders, community residents, and students. This report was produced without any funding, an accomplishment that is a testament to the collective efforts of those who are personally invested in serving the community.

This research project was rooted in the efforts to collectively tackle the multiple barriers to mental health access that have serious consequences on the lives of the underserved in Chicago. With this report, we seek to create a discourse that unites people to find alternative, sustainable, fully-funded solutions that are grounded in empowerment-based practice and that support marginalized populations who our society treats as being disposable and less worthy.
